The musculoskeletal system consists of 75% of the bodyweight (excluding fat) and is the foundation of our existence. All other organ systems exist to support this system and the brain.

The human body is driven by demand.

Human tissues/organs have only one motto: use it or lose it. They atrophy and lose function if not used.

The human body has 600 muscles, 200 bones, and 360 joints.

We are capable of an infinite number of motions.

In a 70 kg man, the Musculoskeletal system weighs 40-45 kg. Skin is the next most important organ in the body, which weighs about 5 kg. It is the most important sensory organ. Life is not possible without sensations received from the skin. (Life can continue with loss of any other sense organ)

Out of the 37 trillion cells that we have, the musculoskeletal system and the skin consist of about 30 trillion cells.

Life is all about these 30 trillion cells and 80 billion nerve cells and five sense organs.

Every molecule in the body changes every few days to 3 months, though outwardly we do not see the change. Our psychological makeup is constantly changing too.

The shape of your bones depends on the strength of the muscles attached to them.

You can change the shape of the bone by training the muscles attached to them.

The full range of motion of a joint is not possible without the adequate length of the muscle.

Adequate length of the muscle is as important as adequate strength of the muscle.

Strength in each fiber of the muscle is more important than the overall size of the muscle.

Toning of the muscle means increasing the strength of each muscle fiber.

Strength of the muscle means the ability to stay contracted against resistance and to contract and relax against resistance.

Increasing the strength of the muscle also means increasing the number of mitochondria present in each muscle fiber

The primary function of some muscles is to stay contracted for a long period of time. These are the core muscles. They contain a larger proportion of red fibers that have a high mitochondrial content.

The primary function of some muscles is to contract and relax. These are the muscles that move the limbs.  They contain a smaller proportion of red fibers, hence can not sustain the contraction as much as the core muscles but they are geared for more rapid movement.

When a muscle is weak it cannot relax fully as more calories are needed for relaxation than for contraction.

The muscle that is not long enough due to inadequate relaxation and training, creates a continuous tension on the tendon which in turn creates

Prevention and cure of osteoarthritis are possible by lengthening and strengthening the muscles.

Contracting the muscle against the resistance in the elongated state is the foundation of my revolutionary “lengthen and strengthen technique” to prevent or alleviate the joint pain of osteoarthritis.

I have developed my exercises after going to numerous yoga, and other exercise classes in the last 45 years and curing the problems I had, and preventing them forever. I have experienced problems with my back, neck, shoulder, and knee. No yoga class or physiotherapy could cure any of my problems. I had to devise a system that worked. It is a product of my deep understanding of muscle physiology.

My philosophy is that the body is will always tell you when something starts going wrong. If you do not find a solution or find the wrong solution, the underlying problem will keep going on and worsen to become eventually permanent.

For example, Biochemistry is the metabolic system at the foundation of all systems. You get the indication that something is going wrong in your foundational biochemistry by indicators like BMI more than 26, Hb1c more than 6, and elevated blood pressure. When you ignore the indications or do not find the right solution, you get sinister complications like diabetes, high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease, stroke, and a variety of others.

The same applies to the Musculoskeletal system
